If you want to set up the printer for the first time, ensure that you follow the simple instructions provided in the manual.Also, make sure to handle the printer with care to avoid any printing issues. HP Deskjet is a printer series that was designed specifically targeting home users and to satisfy the needs of small offices. This all-in-one printer can print, scan, and copy in addition to the various features.

Step 1:

• First,take the printer from the shipped package. Ensure that you handle the printer with care while unpacking it and also see the list of items shipped in the box as it varies by country/region.

Step 2:

• Inside the box, you will find two HP ink cartridges one color and another black and also power chord and a phone chord for fax.

Step 3:

• Then, remove all the blue tapes, stickers and packing materials from outside of the printer.Also, remove the packing materials inside the printer by lowering the output tray.Ensure that there is no piece of packing materials like cardboard etc., are left inside the printer’s output tray to avoid clogging and paper jams.

Step 4:

• Next, plug the power chord firmly into the slot that is provided for to power on the printer and turn on the printer.Make sure that you connect the power chord to the rear of the printer and another end of the chord to the electrical outlet before pressing the power button on the printer.Make sure not to connect a USB cable until you are prompted to do so.

Step 5:

• Then, to install the ink cartridge you need to remove the new ink cartridges from its package and eliminate the plastic tape.For this, you need to do is clasp the handle and lower the ink cartridge access door to open it.

Step 6:

• Now, the carriage moves the center of the printer.Before you continue, wait for the printer to be idle and silent.Now remove one of the ink cartridges from its package.Make sure that you remove the thin plastic film that surrounds the cartridge.Also, make sure not to touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles when you insert.

Step 7:

• Now, grasp the cartridge in a way that the nozzle point towards the printer and then insert the ink cartridge into its proper slot.If it is a tri-color ink cartridge, the insert it into the left slot and if it is a black ink cartridge, then insert it into the right slot.Make sure to slide the new cartridge in a slight upward angle into the empty slot until it correctly fits into place.

Step 8:

• Repeat the above steps to unpack and install other cartridges.Ensure that you close the ink cartridge access door after completing the above steps.

Step 9:

• Now, raise the input tray and load enough paper until it stops.Slide the paper width guide to the right until it stops at the edge of the paper.Ensure that you don't push the paper width guide firmly as it will bend the paper.

Step 10:

• Now, lower the output tray and pull the output tray extender to receive alignment page that is automatically printed .After this, you can install the printer software to start using the printer.
